Breach of 21,000 customers' data at UK telecoms company

Synopsis

The lesser known breach of the telecommunications company which happened in 2014 and was caused by 'rogue' staff at a third party supplier.

In August 2017 a £100,000 fine was levied by the UK's Information Commissioner's Office for having inappropriate technical or organisational measures in place to keep personal data secure, thus breaching the 7th principle of the Data Protection Act.
