Data potentially breached during a months-long phishing attack

Synopsis

In May 2019, the healthcare company disclosed a data breach affecting employees and patients after an unauthorized person gained access to some employee email accounts in December 2018 and again in February 2019.

The company's investigation determined that within the email accounts there were emails or attachments that were potentially accessed by the unauthorized person(s). Those emails / attachments were confirmed to have included patient names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, health insurance member / group numbers, financial account information and payment card information.
