‘Ransomware’ halted production sites

Synopsis

In January 2020, the diversified industrial group suffered a large-scale ransomware attack. The attack caused an immediate serious disruption to the group's activities. Though production activities were restarted 'on a step-by-step basis' from the following week and they stated that lost production days would 'be made up in the coming weeks and months'. The financial impact of the attack was stated as mostly limited to costs relating to the repair of the IT systems.
